Today, we journey to Cape Coast, making a meaningful stop at the
Assin Manso Slave River. Here, you’ll visit the site where enslaved
Africans took their last baths before being sent to the coast, a place of
deep historical reflection.
We’ll then continue to the Cape Coast Castle, one of the most
prominent slave forts along the West African coast. Explore the
castle’s dungeons and learn about its pivotal role in the trans-Atlantic
slave trade.
Experience a heartfelt Ghanaian Naming Ceremony, where you’ll be
welcomed into the community and given a traditional Ghanaian name.
During this ceremony, a local elder or chief will bestow your new
name based on the day of your birth, symbolizing your connection to
Ghanaian heritage. This ceremony includes blessings, drumming, and
dancing, offering an authentic glimpse into Ghanaian traditions. It’s a
meaningful way to take home a piece of Ghana, with a name that
connects you to its people and culture.
After this powerful experience, we’ll return to Accra for the evening.
